RAK Fine Art Festival 2016

For the last 4 years this has been an institution in Ras Al Khaimah and has become the event of the year.  I have watched it grow since it’s inception and the quality of work submitted has grown as has their numbers.

Returning to the northern emirates for a fourth year, the Annual Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival took place from February 19-26, 2016 and exhibited local and international artists, musicians, and filmmakers. The goal of the Fine Arts Festival is to bring the community together to celebrate art, create opportunities for cultural exchange, and support the creative and artistic sectors of Ras Al Khaimah.

I was fortunate enough to not only participate again this year, but to receive an award for my portrait titled “Slave”.

The exhibition for all the art submitted was held in the Ras Al Khaimah Museum.  A beautiful, tranquil setting and the perfect place to display all the art in one place for everyone to enjoy and look at, at their leisure.

Award night at the RAK Chamber of Commerce

Thank you to all who made this possible.  For their support, hard work, dedication and the behind the scenes long days and nights giving us artists an opportunity to showcase our work in such a magnificent setting.

  3. Congratulations Eileen! How lovely to see this beautiful setting. A different view of the Arab world from the news. Now, were you not also the artist of the year?
