Every now and again I explore sketching different subject matter. This last week it has been animal skulls and as an experiment I added a little gold leaf.
Hi Janine, yes why not the traditional hand…. 🙂 Skulls are great practice for understanding shape and how to create this through manipulating the tone. A skull is full of curves and nooks and crannies for the light to play off. Here is a link to a blog where I explored a series of 12 different hands. It started as a drawing exercise and ended up as an interior decorating solution to hiding tiles I hated in our bathroom…. https://artbyeileen.wordpress.com/2014/07/07/hands-hands-and-more-hands/
I understand the concept of trying different things…but skulls??? why not the traditional hand?
