Whale season…

Every year humpback whales migrate to the warmer waters off the coast of Madagascar to calve because their nutrient rich feeding grounds in the Antarctic are too cold. Once the babies are born, the whales begin their journey south, back to the Antarctic. From mid June right the way through to November we can watch this migration from the shores along the East coast of South Africa. A sight to behold!

All whales have been painted in acrylic on 300gsm mixed media paper – 15 cm X 10 cm
