One of the advantages of being an artist is if you need a painting to fill a corner you don’t have to search far. We have this funny narrow wall at an angle in one of our guest rooms, and I cannot put a mirror there so I thought of a painting as a solution. It needed to be a long narrow painting and irises in a vase were the perfect length in a vase for the long narrow area of wall, I just needed to find the right size canvas. Luckily my local supplier was able to customise a size for me.

Bearded irises actually only have 3 petals, the other 3 “petals” are large sepals.
