I love the smell of dahlias – it is like nothing else, with a slightly bitter note. This bowl of dahlias are inspired by the beautiful dahlias @adeneflowers, a flower and fruit farm in Wolseley about 120 km’s outside of Cape Town or an hour and a half drive. those pungent colours and their unique smell I can almost convince myself that I can get a subtle hint of their fragrance off their instagram flower pages of all their magnificent rows of blooms and buckets of dahlias….

One of my first memories is of me at about the age of 3 picking one of my mothers magnificent shiraz coloured dahlia blooms from our garden. Im not sure my Mother was as impressed as I was! 🙂
