The other day I ate fresh beetroot for the first time in years and while preparing them I thought what fun they would be to draw. I did a little reading up on this veg and it is a very versatile source of food and will be making a much bigger appearance in my kitchen in the future! I gather it makes a very tasty wine and ale……. It sure has a beautiful colour that would rival a magnificent claret!

Oh gosh, I love these! You did such an amazing job capturing the full earthiness of them. The rich roots, the stems. Though the ones I know are generally redder.
Yes I am also more familiar with the redder ones, almost a purple magenta but what you find here for source material is often old and been in cold storage a while…..!
