Dear Eileen, what a treat to see your process in detail! It is a good reminder of how much craft and technical mastery goes into an artistic creation. And I love how you consult with clients.
I believe that nineteenth century romanticism has done the world a big disservice in creating the myth of the inspired artist, ideally starving in an attic till the world discovers him a generation later. You are more the true descendant of seventeenth century masters, who earned a living painting their world, than self-absorbed drama kings or queens who feel a constant need to “épater le bourgeois”.
Ien…. Thank you for your beautiful comment, you have always been such a wonderful support over the years! Inspired artist loving painting in my studio yes, starving I am most certainly NOT! 🙂 The privilege is mutual!
