I have a series of 6 paintings all 40 X 50 cm in size that I need to complete in 6 weeks for a restaurant in Abu Dhabi. It is a very tall order for me as I usually take weeks to finish one painting because of the layering and small brushes that I use when applying the acrylic. In an attempt to make the completion date I have decided to choose very simple subject matter and surfaces to replicate that are not too complicated. I usually only paint flowers in this style, but decided to try my hand at fruit as well. The Golden Pear was my first attempt, lemons my second. I am very satisfied with the pear. Less so with the lemons. The top lemon has come out a little flat I think, and as a result I have decided not to keep them, but instead turn them into Lemon Curd….. 🙂

I am going to take the weekend off and start again on Sunday maybe with an Iris…..
